The Book on Rental Property Investing Review:  First thing first, this book has a lot of detail. It doesn’t just skimp around the edges of the topics; it delves right in to the nitty gritty, which as a reader is what you want when you get such a specific book on real estate investing.

As a result this book is very clear, it is very evident that Brandon knows what he is talking about and can live and breath rental investing. This should probably be the starting point for most investors looking to start out in rental investing – as there are other books out there which would not provide as much useful information as Brandon is able to.  To back up the book, there are hundreds of youtube videos and podcasts to support the BiggerPockets claims and it isn’t just a small author writing his thoughts. Given the content already available through BiggerPockets, you could definitely argue that the book doesn’t necessarily add extra information than what is already available out there. However what it does is it puts all that information in a chronological order in one book. This serves as a useful reference point for anyone looking to get into rental investing or wants to consolidate their knowledge.

The overall process of real estate investing is as follows: pre approval on a loan, research and locate a property, invest, tidy the investment up, find tenants and then manage the property and the tenants.

Depending on where you live the laws may be different; such as the chapter on 1031 strategies will not be useful to anyone who lives outside of the States. But the process and systems behind the investment will be exactly the same.

Brandon comes across as very knowledgeable but not egotistic or a know it all. It is clear to the reader that Brandon’s successes have not come from luck or from family money, he has worked hard to get to where he is today and plans to assist others in teaching them the in’s and out’s of real estate rental investing. L
